MAINECAT

A Union Catalog for a large number of public, college, and university libraries in the state of Maine.

MELVYL

A large union catalog for the University of California system. It is comprised of two parts - the Melvyl Catalog database and the Melvyl Periodical database.

"The Melvyl Catalog database (CAT) contains records of UC's book holdings, as well as records of other materials such as maps and music. The Catalog also includes the book holdings of the California State Library in Sacramento, the California Academy of Sciences and the California Historical Society, both in San Francisco, the Center for Research Libraries, and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. There are currently over 9.5 million unique titles representing over 14.4 million holdings."

"The Periodicals database (PE) includes over 857,000 unique titles of newspapers, journals, proceedings, etc., representing over 1.4 million serial holdings from UC, the California State Library, the California Academy of Sciences, the Center for Research Libraries, the Graduate Theological Union, Stanford University, the University of Southern California, the 19-campus California State University system, the California Union List of Periodicals (community college libraries, public libraries, and selected special or corporate libraries), California medical libraries in SERHOLD, and selected other libraries."
