CARLIN’S
COMMENTS

George Burns once said: The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending; and have the two as close together as possible.

Unanimous consensus across all of the surveys about our meeting site and priorities for next year was GROWTH. What is each one of us going to do about it? We need ideas; we need to make contacts; we need to follow-up and we need to initiate prospects into membership. There is a place for each of us to contribute.
 .

The end,
Carlin.

Need a Volunteer for November!

BOARD ACTION

and

BUSINESS
MEETING

It looks like $7,538 (after expenses) was raised in 2004-2005. We donated $8,800. It looks like we need to bump up the club income by at least $1000-$1500 to meet proposed expenses for 2005-2006 (which were projected to total $8900).

Most of the club surveys have been returned. The club is evenly split as to decisions concerning meeting location and the decision to have one or two evening meetings per month (in lieu of one or two noon meetings).

Cliff and Carlin will ask Todd Bohnenkamp to check with Britney Norland, Chair of the UNI Student Organization UNI Best Buddies to arrange for conversion of our donations for care packages to be sent to our soldiers overseas.

The Board worked on finalizing a budget for 2005-2006. President Carlin will bring this before the club at our next business meeting.

It was decided to hold a pancake breakfast in early November.
The club will be asked to consider the viability of the Valentines fundraiser. Last year saw both high overhead and low participation. Club members will be asked to consider the future of this project at one of our upcoming business meetings.
