Board Meeting - Minutes
September 13, 2001

Present:   Cliff Highnam (presiding), Donna Brown, Lloyd Berry, Dave Green, Carlin Hageman, Tom Keel, Chris Neuhaus, Bill Robinson,

The minutes from the Club Leadership Conference held on August 30, 2001 were reviewed and minor amendments noted.  These minutes were approved (Lloyd moved, Carlin 2^nd).

Lloyd presented the Treasurer’s Report for September 13, 2001.  Lloyd noted that after receipts and disbursements were tallied there was still a slight discrepancy of   $8.15 ($1646.03 rather than $1,654.18) between the month of September and August 2001 – due perhaps to payments not yet registered by the bank at the time of the August audit.  The report was approved (Dave moved, Carlin 2^nd ).

Lloyd reported that the Sertoma International membership dues invoice listed dues as $11.50 per person rather than the traditional $9.50 per person.  Governor Hageman will investigate this unannounced increase.

Donna announced that the club has received a letter of thanks from the Girl Scouts for our donation.

Cliff asked that the club consider forming a committee to amend the club bylaws.  Donna volunteered to serve on such a committee and asked Cliff, Bill, and Chris to also serve if such a committee is formed.  The formation of a bylaws committee will be brought before the club membership at the business meeting in September.

Carlin suggested that members of the Membership Committee contact new people in town.  He recommended that the committee obtain lists of new residents from both area newspapers and local chambers of commerce.  Carlin will contact Jessica Williams of Wolf Clinic (a potential new member) to invite her to another club meeting.

Donna announced that Saturday, November 3^rd is the date set for the “Jim Buchwald Memorial Pancake Breakfast.”  Proposed ticket prices are $4 for individuals and $10 for families.
