Cedar Falls Sertoma Board Meeting

March 29, 2001

Attendance:  Cliff, Lea, Paula, Joe A. Donna

The meeting was called to order by President Cliff Highnam at 5:45 p.m.  It was decided that the Flag project was not proceeding fast enough so we will probably need to have the Sturgis Falls fundraiser.

Donna moved, seconded by Paula, to accept Tom Keel as a Sertoma member.

Cliff explained the JC fundraiser Run, Punt, and Pass.  He would like to see us do the same using soccer as the sport.  We could call it Dribble/Kick/Score.  Soccer coaches would help promote this day of competition using soccer skills (possibly with 4-6^th graders).  There would be a $5 entrance fee (so we can make money) and winners in each age group would receive plastic trophies at an award ceremony.  It was felt there was enough time to try this event this spring.

Photos, etc. are being solicited for our display board.  If you have any items please give to Cliff.

It is hoped that some Sertoman will step forward and attend the Deaf Commission Leadership Conference this year (not sure of date yet).

New membership booklets will be available soon.

Cliff would like to have the Board over for Bob’s fish dinner preceding the April 21 dance.  Those wishing to go to the dance could then attend together.

Cliff and Carlin are committed to attending the Sertoma Convention.  Donna would like to go also if it can be arranged.
