2. The Board pondered the upcoming Flag Day event - Saturday, June 14.
Chris will check with Carlin and Bob Robinson to be sure each team has enough
members and flags.
3. The Board next focused on the upcoming Sturgis Falls fundraiser. Board
members present volunteered for various shopping details - see
http://www.uni.edu/neuhaus/sertoma/sturgissignup2003.html for details and to
sign up for a booth time or other necessary chores. Paula suggested we
check with various merchants and organizations in town to see if they might
donate necessary items e.g. freezer, refrigerator, tables, steam heater ... for
the event. Paula volunteered to make these calls. Chris suggested
that all merchants and organizations making donations should have a
banner/poster (other?) displayed on the Cedar Valley Sertoma Club Booth
proclaiming their participation.
4. The Board took up further discussion of a once-a-month Thursday evening Club
Meeting. Chris noted that the Broom Factory (Dorothy) asked if we would be
willing to order of a menu in advance. Chris pointed out that this would
require plenty of advance notification similar to that requested for the Annual
Banquet. David and Lea recommended that the Club arrange for hors
d'oeuvres (if possible) to be served during the meeting with members ordering
drinks (pop - cocktails). Then those members who wish to have dinner could
retire to the main dining room after the meeting. This idea was
unanimously agreed upon. Chris will put this proposal to Dorothy next
week.
