September Minutes - Motion to except Carlin Hageman 1st, Chris
Neuhaus 2nd.
Bob Robinson introduced his guest and our newest member of Sertoma -
Zach Deitrich (of Wells Fargo fame). Welcome Zach!
Pancakes - Bob will put advertisements in the Cedar Valley Saver,
Hometowner, Courier, and Cedar Falls Times. Chris will supply
pictures. Sell more tickets!!! Lloyd announced that to date
the club has sold about $900 worth of pancake tickets. The Club
must sell $2000 worth to meet the Bob Robinson challenge (it should also
be noted that Carlin Hageman currently trails Bob Robinson by about $100
in the Hageman-Robinson-Pancake-Sell-Off-Loser-Buys-Dinner-Contest).
Ed Smith has sold $360! Go Ed!
Jamie Williams - New Member Induction. Jessica Williams
formally and Chris Neuhaus somewhat informally inducted Jamie Williams
into the Cedar Valley Sertoma Club. Welcome Jamie!
East-West Iowa Fall District Conference - Sunday, October 31 (9:00
a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), Ames, Iowa. The club will cover the $25 registration
fee (and the food is always great). Members need to contact
Jessica Williams -
hearingsmart@hotmail.com - to let her know if they are going
(perhaps by October 19th if not sooner).
New Member Orientation to Club Finances - Carlin Hageman reviewed
the club financial structure (General Account, Sponsorship Account) with
new members Jamie and Zach.
Club members discussed candidates for the Service to Mankind Award
and the Sertoman of the Year.
Jessica announced that the Board has decided to fund the Solar Car
Contest (with awards Most Patriotic Entry and Best Patriotic Performer)
in lieu of the Essay Contest in 2005.
All Cedar Valley Sertomans are encouraged to forward to Chris Neuhaus -
chris.neuhaus@uni.edu - the
names of at least five community members they believe would make
excellent Cedar Valley Sertomans.
