Business Meeting – Minutes
Tuesday, November 18, 2003



Present: Joe Alemao, Lloyd Berry, Carol Copper, David Greene, Duane Halbur, Cliff Highnam,
Chris Neuhaus, Bill Robinson, Bob Robinson, Ed Smith, and Jessica Williams


Minutes from the Business Meeting October 21, 2003 were unanimously accepted after David motioned to approve and Bob seconded.


Treasurer Report:
General Account $1,604.67
Sponsorship Fund $ 5, 497.53


A correction was made for the October’s Treasurer Report.
General Account $2.359.67
Sponsorship fund $ 4,533.89


Flag Business: Discussion to make flagpole plastic plugs for $.06 each.


Pancake Business: Discussion was made regarding improvements for next year. More advertising, purchasing electric griddles (when on sale), serving pancakes and drinks to eliminate confusion, and location.


American Legion Business: Bob brought to our attention that no money was given for our use of the American Legion for the Valentine’s Buns. Bob motioned to give the American Legion $100 and David seconded.


Festival of Trees: Carol brought to our attention that the Festival of Trees is this weekend (Nov. 21-23). A donation of $200 had been budgeted to donate. Jessica will give Lloyd the contact information.


Collegiate Sertoma: Chris reported that his meeting with Bob Schnieder was encouraging. UNI Collegiate Sertoma will encompass the ASL Club, NSSLHA, and the Social Work Club.


Service to Mankind Business: Please be thinking for a good candidate for the Service to Mankind Award. A brief description or history of why this candidate deserves the award would be appreciated. It will then be forwarded to District.


Essay Question: Duane will give information to school counselors in the Cedar Falls and Waterloo Middle Schools. The topic is to design a web page on what “Freedom Means to Me”

The last item of business was left for members to “ponder” regarding Sturgis Falls concessions. Do or Drop is the question?
