Business Meeting – Minutes
Tuesday, July 22, 2003

Present:   Paula Padavich (presiding), Joe Alemao, Lea Andersen, Donna Brown, Cliff Highnam, Chris Neuhaus,
Bill Robinson, Bob Robinson, Bill Smart, Ed Smith, Jessica Williams and guest Troy Delagardelle.

1. Bob Robinson was the first winner of the "free lunch" drawing (what was the "smell the money drawing") - see the Board Meeting Minutes of July 10 for contest details!

2. Minutes of the June 24 Business Meeting were reviewed.  Lea moved to accept the minutes, Cliff provided a 2nd - minutes accepted.


3. No Treasurer's Report (no Treasurer!).

4. The Club discussed Sturgis and Chris mentioned his idea of a "10 New Members or Don't" challenge first suggested during the July 10 Board Meeting.

Bill Smart mentioned a few new food items as possibilities ... including Pork Chop on a Stick and Indian Tacos (a walking taco in a pita or burrito shell).

Cliff put forward the idea of sponsoring a Boy Scout troop to help man the booth during Sturgis (they would receive a certain percentage of the profit).


5. Bob announced that he and Chris will trek to Iowa City next Tuesday evening for a new officers training session put on by East Iowa Governor-Elect Denny Althaus (Dubuque Sertoma).  Jessica Williams - as incoming president-elect - may join this group if work schedule permits.


6. The Club began to discuss the possibilities of the Fall 2003 Pancake Breakfast. Same place same date? American Legion Hall - very early November ... see old October 2002 C.V. Sertoma web page for reminder.  Much to be discussed.


7. Bob introduced his guest Troy Delagardelle - Investment Representative for Edward Jones (Currently working in Waterloo - but soon to be relocated to an office on 1st Street).

8. Hooray to Bob for selling a bunch more flags ... up to 60 (60+?).  He and Travis Manske will be planting flag holders in the near future.
