Business Meeting – Minutes
Tuesday, February 18, 2003
Present: Paula Padavich (presiding), Joe Alemao, Alan Asher, Lloyd Berry,
Donna Brown, Carol Cooper, Carlin Hageman, Cliff Highnam, Linda Janssen, Chris Neuhaus,
Bill Robinson and Ed Smith.
1. Minutes of the January 21 Business Meeting were reviewed. Lloyd moved to
accept the minutes, Linda provided a 2nd - minutes accepted.
2. The membership agreed to fund the dinners for the essay award winners and for both
parents of each award winner.
3. Essay contest readers for this year included - Alan Asher, Donna Brown, Carol Cooper
and Linda Janssen. The membership agreed that up to two sets of savings bond prizes
- 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $75 - might be awarded this year. Linda will have print
certificates created for each of the essay contest winners.
4. Chris put forward the idea - for future consideration - of holding one Cedar Valley
Sertoma Club meeting per month as an evening meeting (dinner, after dinner, activity,
other?). A number of community members have expressed interest in joining the Cedar
Valley Sertoma Club if they could attend an occasional evening meeting. Chris will
survey the membership about this idea via e-mail and ask for additional member input and
ideas.
5. Lloyd presented the Treasurer's Report - as of February 15, 2003:
General Account - $1,980.74
Sponsorship Account - $977.33
Ed moved to accept the Treasurer's Report - Linda provided a 2nd - Treasurer's Report
accepted.
