Board Meeting - Minutes
Thursday, August 8, 2002

Present: Donna Brown (presiding), Lea Andersen,
Lloyd Berry, Dave Greene, Bill Robinson.

The Treasurer's Report was given by Lloyd and approved.

The Sponsorship Funds were discussed. It was decided that we should give donations this month to the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Rec Center to sponsor a volleyball league. Also, Lea will check into the possibility of sponsoring a team for the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Association. Dial-A-Hearing screening at UNI is another option. This will be discussed at the club business meeting.

Also discussed was the subject of delinquent member dues. Three people are in arrears by two quarters. One person has not been active for more than two quarters and has not responded to written reminders by mail and telephone calls. A motion was made and seconded that the Treasurer proceed with notification by registered letter to this person according to the bylaws. The other two people are active members and will receive written and verbal reminders.

The meal price will be increasing at the Broom Factory by $1.00 to $7.00 per meal. They were asking for a $1.50 increase. The board has agreed to cancel the dessert day and to have a salad (supplemented with protein) possibly once a month.
