Chairman of the Board Cliff Highnam called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. The first order of business was to declare Donna Brown President of the Cedar Falls Sertoma Club for 2001-2002. At that time Donna Brown assumed leadership of the club and began presiding over the Board Meeting (Club Leadership Conference).

Donna discussed the committee structure and committee chair responsibilities for the Cedar Falls Sertoma Club in 2001-2002. Officers and committee chairs for 2001-2002 include:

Lloyd passed out copies of the August 2001 Treasurer’s Report. Cliff moved that the report be accepted and Bob Robinson seconded this motion.

Donna discussed the Sertoma Club Manual. It was proposed that if we don’t purchase Sertoma Club Manuals – and that if the Sertoma International web site http://www.sertoma.org/ provides much of the information found in the Manual – then the club would put the money normally spent on manuals towards the purchase of a "The Sertoma Club Meets Here" to be displayed in the Broom Factory. Donna, Cliff, and Chris agreed to look into the matter. (Note – after the meeting the secretary discovered that at least one club manual will automatically be sent to the Club and that the Club will be charged $20 per manual received).

Donna set as a new Executive Board meeting date the 2^nd Thursday of each Month. Cedar Falls Sertoma Club Executive Board meetings are thus tentatively scheduled for:

Bill Robinson moved, and Tom Keel 2^nd that the Executive Board bring the following name change before the membership. The proposed name change would be from the Cedar Falls Sertoma Club to the Cedar Valley Sertoma Club.

The Board recommended that quarterly dues be raised $2. This proposed increase in dues will be brought before the membership for consideration.

The Board agreed to set the "Jim Buckwald Memorial Pancake Breakfast" tickets to $4 for individuals and $10 for families.

The Board reviewed the Budget for Sept 2001 – August 2001. Bob moved, and Paula seconded that the Budget be accepted.

Chris reviewed the "Quarterly Activities Report" and "Annual Incentives Affidavit" forms with the Board. To facilitate better reporting and record keeping the Secretary will ask all members to report any hours they spent over the past month on Sertoma projects.

The Board would like to thank Board Chair Cliff Highnam for serving as Club President this past year. Job well done!

The Board would also like to thank new Club President Donna Brown for hosting this meeting and supplying all that excellent pizza etc. Best wishes for the new year!
