Board Meeting - Minutes
Thursday, April 10, 2003
 

Those in attendance:    David Greene, Bill Robinson, Bob Robinson, Donna Brown, (presiding) Carol Cooper, Lloyd Berry.

Minutes of the last meeting were passed out, reviewed and approved as read.

Treasurers Report: Was made by Lloyd Berry using the new cutoff date as of the end of the month (prior). Report was accepted as read.



OLD BUSINESS:

Nominating committee: report by Dave Greene. Reported we are making progress but do not have our slate filled as yet. Many names were discussed between those present as possibilities to fill jobs. These names will be brought before the committee. We will report back at the board meeting in May. 

Flags: The backordered flags will be shipped tomorrow. We will need to put crews together for various functions that need to be done for the many new people that have signed up for flags. Such as.... Purchase of new pole material, fitting the flags to the poles, Setting the receptacles in the ground at the new homes. Sales have been going well.  It was also suggested that we once again sell a $25.00 flag to all club members again this year. Lloyd will add it to each persons quarterly club billing.

USABDA:. Ballroom Dance: Donna mentioned this fund raiser... no new ticket takers

Minot regional convention: So far Bob Robinson is our only rep... Carlin is going as Governor of E. Iowa...

Firemen & Fire alarms: Bob Robinson will check with Paula as to which fire departments are we pursuing for information... Waterloo or CF ... and then do more calling. This is regarding who might require an alarm system from us that we would supply.



NEW BUSINESS:

Sturgis Falls: We reviewed the update presented in printed form ( Since Chris as not present) and noted Chris seems to have things very well organized, and well ahead of time... NOW... It is up to us to set aside the date and the many hours it will take to make this another successful event!!!!!!
Other legwork he mentions would include student participation, or anyone else inside or outside the Club that can help set up, work, or tear down, or haul or whatever....

Night club meeting: This subject was not discussed (even though it was on Chris' notes) We will discuss this later....

New Members: This was discussed briefly, but it is a well known fact we DO need new members.... Dave Greene had talked to Lea Anderson about a possible member from Community Bank ( right across from the Broom Factory)...  Rachel's husband,  ___ Ford who works at Doerfer Engineering (just down the St.) could be a good prospect.... Also, Bob has been pursuing a dentist....  There are all kinds of possibilities out there.

Presidents comments: Were very short as she was not present... Home with a cold !!
