Mark Smith of Oklahoma State squeezed by John Ross of West Virginia 11-9. A takedown and a two-point nearfall at the end of the first period was the turning point for Smith. Ross pulled within two after he was awarded a point on a stalling call against Smith, but could not get a takedown. Smith will try for third in the next match.
