Grant Johnson of Boston University scored a take down early in the first period over Mike Geurin of Lock Haven. Who scored an escape to make it 4-1 at the end of 1. Geurin would score another escape in the second period to bring it to 4-2 at the end of 2. However that was not enough as Johnson's riding time point made the final score 5-2.
