Number 5 seeded Lee Fullhart of Iowa pulled off a huge upset by defeating Jason Robison of Edinboro (seeded #1) with a 7-4 decision. As Robison tried to come back in the 3rd period he managed to score 4 points but was unable to overcome Fullhart.
