Chris Bono of Iowa State takes on the #6 seeded Oregon wrestler, Scott Norton. Bono hustles Norton for the takedown putting himself on the board 1st. Norton answers back with the escape making the swcore 2-1 in Bono's favor. Bono picks up a single leg but can't convert before time runs out in the 1st period. 2nd period starts with Norton on bottom. Bono lets him loose and Norton gets the escape. Bono catches stalling points late in the 2nd period. In the 3rd Bono picks a neutral start and wins the match 4-2
