Sixth seed Brandon Slay of Pennsylvania beat Mike Uker of Iowa in an exciting 12-11 decision. Uker started out strong with 5-4 lead after the first. Slay took a 7-6 lead in the second with an escape and a takedown. Slay scored two more takedowns in the t hird. Uker scored two escapes and received one on a penalty pulling within one. Uker could not pull off the escape as time ran out.
