The number three seed in the heavy weight division, Tolly Thompson of Neb. pinned his opponent, Oregon State's Matt Orndorff with 19 seconds left in the 1st period. Thompson dominated the entire period, breaking down and riding Orndorff until he finally turned him over for the win.
