Eleventh seed Matt Suter from Arizona State met Reese Edgington of Virginia Military Institute in the first round at 158 lbs. Edgington gave Suter a run for his money with a key reversal early in the second period to make it 4-3. However, Suter pulled away wiyth a key takedown to make it 7-3 at the end of the second period. The final score was Edgington over Suter in an 8-4 decision.
