| Finally shaking his two-year hex at the conference meet, Ensrud walked away with his first Pac-10 Championship in Tempe (Mar.2-3), scoring a 17-6 major decision over Mark Perryman of CS Fullerton in the title match. He recorded a fall at 5:35 in his first match against CS Fullerton's Eli Coon and defeated Arizona State's Joey Heckel for the second time this season. The nation's ninth-ranked wrestler has been the anchor in the lower weights for the Ducks. He is still adding to the list of titles won, taking the championship at the Mat Town Invitational for the second straight year. It was the rematch of last year's title match, as Rider's Jason Nase lost for the second time, 11-7. Ensrud, who sports a frog tattoo on his left shoulder, also placed second at the Southern Oregon Open. He is riding an eight-match winning streak into the NCAA Championships and has recorded ten falls in his career. This is his third appearance in the NCAA Tourney.
