Biography
Neidlinger claimed fourth at the 1997 Big Ten Championships after advancing to the third place match for the second straight year. He went 3-2 for the tournament falling 9-1 to Iowa's Lee Fullhart in the third place match. Neidlinger will be making his second NCAA tournament appearance having gone 1-2 at the 1996 NCAA's after placing third in the Big Ten tournament. Neidlinger has held down the 190 pound slot in the Penn State dual lineup the last two years posting an 11-5 mark in dual meets this season. He had two falls, two major decisions and a technical fall on the year. Eight of his ten losses on the year have come against a ranked opponent, including five in the top five. He claimed second at the East Stroudsburg Open and third at the Penn State Open in early season tournaments and has knocked off one ranked opponent on the year, dropping then No. 7 Mark Bodo 4-3. He has wreslted well late in the year, winning nine of his last 12 matches, and has been particularly strong in riding opponents.
