NEWSNEW LOCATION FOR CASHIER'S OFFICE:E-Bill payments WERE due Monday, Nov. 7. Due to the relocation of the Cashiers Office to Maucker Union, students are encouraged to use drop boxes available at Essentials and outside the Student Involvement and Activities Center (SIAC) in Maucker Union. Please refer to the Business Operations Web site at http://www.vpaf.uni.edu/obo/index.shtml for additional details.
ADDITIONAL YELLOWCARD TICKETS AVAILABLE:Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m., in Maucker Union. Ticket sales will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Friday. Tickets are $10 each, and students are allowed to purchase 2 tickets. The concert is at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, in Maucker Union Old Central Ballroom.
PANTHER NEWS NETWORK:PNN is a 30-minute, weekly news program produced for UNI students by the Electronic Media UNI-TV class. It covers current campus activities and issues related to UNI students. INNER WEATHER LITERARY JOURNAL:UNI’s student-run literary journal, "Inner Weather," is seeking submissions of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and essays, as well as art that can be successfully displayed in a black-and-white, two-dimensional format. All UNI students, faculty, and staff are welcome to submit work. E-mail entries to inner-weather@uni.edu or drop off in Baker 117. Submission deadline is Nov. 30.
UNI POLICE AND PARKING SERVICES RELOCATED:Due to the fire in Gilchrist Hall, the University Police and Parking Services have been temporarily moved to 106 Towers Center (East Towers Lounge). The hours for Parking Operations are currently 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We will return to our normal 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours once we have returned to Gilchrist or the beginning of spring semester, whichever comes first. The Police Division is available 24/7. The phone numbers and campus code have remained the same. Keep in mind when visiting this office, the C Preferred parking areas are restricted to CP permit holders from 1 a.m. Monday morning to 4 p.m. on Friday.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESCSA THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:St. Stephen Student Center is having its annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive. SANTA'S WORKSHOP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:Volunteers are needed to help with crafts at Santa's workshop, an annual event at Festival of Trees. Children, ages 3 to 8, are invited to this free session of creating crafts and decorating cookies while listening to holiday stories and giving Santa their wish lists. CAPSTONE COURSE FOR SPRING:Gretta Berghammer is offering Theatre in Education (490:106: 3 hrs; prerequisite: junior standing) in the spring. This course is available to all majors and satisfies the Liberal Arts Core Capstone requirement.
NEW VENTURE BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION:This competition is intended for Iowa university and college students with an interest in starting their own business. Three seed grants in the amount of $5,000 each will be awarded to the top three business plans submitted in the state-wide competition. Plans will be judged based on a) Content of plan and b) Viability of plan. CERTIFICATION CLASSES:UNI Wellness and Recreation Services will offer two additional certification classes (Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer/ AED Recert). The Lifeguard Training class will be in the WRC Lap Pool Nov. 18 through 20. The CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED Recert class will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. PERFORMING ARTSOPERA ENSEMBLE:On Monday, Nov.14, at 8 p.m., an opera ensemble will showcase scenes from "The Medium" and selections from Russian operatic repertoire, in the Russell Hall Auditorium. Admission is free.
