News is the official UNI news source for students. It is distributed
each Monday during the academic year by the Office of University Marketing
& Public Relations. Information is also available on the MyUNIverse

NEW uCARD:
Current student IDs expire May 10. Pick up new uCards from the Department
of Residence in the Redeker Center.

U-BILLS GOING ELECTRONIC:
Beginning in September 2004, u-bills will
be delivered electronically through MyUNIverse. Paper bills will no
longer be mailed to enrolled students or their parents. Students with
a balance will receive an e-bill reminder in their University e-mail
account and should review bills through MyUNIverse. The August 2004
u-bill will be sent to students in both formats, paper and electronic,

EMERGENCY SIREN:
The Blackhawk County Emergency Management Agency will conduct a test
of the outdoor early warning siren system on Wednesday, May 5 at 11
a.m. The test sound is a steady wail lasting for three minutes. If
severe weather conditions are present, the test will be canceled to
avoid confusion.

NEW HIRE IN MAUCKER
UNION: Connie Hansen has been hired as the
new Coordinator for Student Organizations and Activities. Connie has
been with UNI for more than 15 years in the Admissions Office, will
be responsible for working with student organizations, Homecoming,
Greek Affairs, and leadership opportuities for student groups. Her
start date is July 1. Her new phone number will be 273-6335.

STUDENT HEALTH CLINIC MOVE: The
UNI Student Health Clinic is temporarily moving to 115 Dancer Hall
during renovation of its building. The clinic will be closed from
May 10 to May 14. The clinic will reopen in 115 Dancer Hall on Monday,

This conference is open to UNI students, faculty and staff. Thursday,
May 27 will be an all-day session with nationally-recognized usability
expert Christine Perfetti, of User Interface Engineering, presenting
"Web Sites That Work," a usability seminar. Sessions on Friday, May
28, will be targeted at UNI Web issues. The conference is free, but
