new ATM is now available for use at the main entrance of Maucker Union.

NEW PHONE BOOK AVAILABLE: Off-campus
students can pick up a copy between 8:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. at Copy
Central, located in the basement of Rod Library. Quantities are limited;

WINTER WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK:
Nov. 3-7 is Winter Weather Awareness Week in Iowa. This week is an annual
reminder that Iowa’s winter weather season is rapidly approaching. The

OFFICES RELOCATING TO MAUCKER
UNION: On Monday, Nov. 17, the Student Activities
Office and the Northern Iowa Student Government will move into offices
in the new upper level of Maucker Union. The Center for Multicultural
Education and the International Services office will move into new offices
on Wednesday, Nov. 19, also located in the new upper level of Maucker
Union.

UNIVERSITY COMMITTEES:
NISG is seeking students to serve on University
Committees. There are two openings for the Campus Childcare Advisory
Committee, which meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 23rd Street
Market; one opening on the Educational Policies Commission, which usually
meets every other Friday at 2; and three openings for the Parking Appeals
Committee, which meets every Monday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the College

STUDENT COMPUTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE:
The Student Computer Advisory Committee needs students to serve on its
committee as voting members. Students on the committee influence policies
related to computing on the UNI campus, and make recommendations to
the associate vice president for information technology. No computing
or IT expertise is necessary. The committee meets on the last Wednesday
of each month, at 8 a.m. in Maucker Union. If interested in serving,

PLAN OF STUDY GOES ONLINE:
ITS announces the release of a new online
planning tool for undergraduate students to help students better plan
their overall educational experience and graduate as efficiently as
possible. Students can access the program by logging into MyUNIverse
and clicking on the "Plan of Study" link in the "My Personal Records"
channel. Anyone can view the majors templates at http://www.uni.edu/pos.

DRAKE LAW SCHOOL ON CAMPUS:
An admissions officer from Drake University
Law School will be on campus Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 3:30 p.m., in
SAB 307. This is a great chance to ask questions about the law school

'Til Dawn is a campus organization that raises money for St. Jude
Children's Hospital. The organization is looking for teams of six,

SERIES: "Dimensions and Directions of Health:
Choices in the Maze" is being co-sponsored by the University Honors
Program and the Departments of Biology and Philosophy & Religion.
The fourth seminar in the series, "The Young and the Ruthless: Youth
Violence and Public Health" with James Alan Fox, will be aired live
on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 6:30 p.m. in the Union Central Ballroom A. Fox
is an authority on homicide and appears regularly on national television
programs including "Today" and "Oprah." Discussion
will be moderated by Clemens Bartollas, professor of criminology.

"H Day" of the UNI Museums' A-Z Institute will
be Thursday, Nov. 6, 1-4 p.m. at the University Museum. Learn about
haberdashery and see the Museums' marvelous collection of head- wear.
Bring a hat (or helmet or headdress) to decorate or show, and brainstorm
about the kinds of 'hats' you wear every day. For children grades
K-6. Registration fee is $15 for Friends of the Museums members; $20

Simon Estes will perform traditional spirituals and Broadway selections
as he debuts with The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony this weekend.

TAG SALE: On
Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, the University of Northern
Iowa will hold a tag sale at the East Gym. The sale will be held in
the large gymnasium on the second floor. A large variety of older
office furniture and classroom furniture, including desks and tablet
arm chairs, will be available, as well as some cabinets, bookshelves
and athletic mats and equipment. All items are specifically priced
for sale. All items are sold "as is" and must be removed by 1 p.m.
on Saturday. All items must be paid for in cash (good check) on site
before removal. Parking will be available in the "A" lot south of
West 23rd Street, across from the Catholic Student Center. Please

The UNI-Student Reading Association is hosting its fall Scholastic

p.m. on Tuesday night with craft related literacy events for children.
