LIBERAL ARTS CORE SURVEY: A
survey on student perceptions of the Social Science (Category IV)
component of the Liberal Arts Core is available to
juniors and seniors on MyUNIverse until March 9. The survey should
take no more than five minutes to complete. Answers will provide very
valuable feedback during a review of the social science curriculum

STUDENT ALUMNI AMBASSADORS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS:
Students
involved with the Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) have an opportunity
to serve as an official host to UNI. Each semester SAA accepts applicants
who have a desire to promote UNI, a GPA of at least 3.0, and a willingness
to serve UNI by giving tours and volunteering in a variety of other
ways. Applications are due March 26 and can be submitted in 120 Gilchrist.

NEEDED: Academic Advising Services is accepting applications
for the Peer Advisor in Residence position. A Peer Advisor in Residence
is a student employee trained to work in both AAS and the residence
halls to provide advising, scheduling, and academic skill-building resources
to undergraduate students (12 - 15 hours per week). A 3.0 GPA is required.

UNI Habitat for Humanity is selling candles as a fund raiser for Greater

will be selected to receive $5,200 for the 2003-04 academic year. Selection

EARTH SCIENCE
SEMINAR: Janice Boekhoff, Research Geologist with
the Iowa Geological Survey, will present "Bacteria at Iowa's
Beaches" on Monday, March 3 at 4 p.m. in 125 Latham Hall. Bacteria
beach monitoring at Iowa's 35 state-owned beaches will be discussed,
including bacteria results from an intensive watershed investigation
conducted in 2002 at George Wyth State Park Beach.

campaign known as The Lysistrata Project presents a staged reading
