CONCERT:Ja Rule and Eve will be in concert
Thursday, Feb. 13, at 8 p.m.
in the UNI-Dome. Tickets, at $25 for UNI students and $30 for all
others, will go on sale at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 16 at all UNI ticket
outlets. They also are available at

VISITING
LEADERS SERIES
The Thursday afternoon visiting leaders series (Leaders on Leadership)
begins Thursday, Jan. 30, from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in SEC 246. Free and
open to the public. Students may also earn one credit; weekly writing
assignment involved (course #680:186, sec. 05). For information call

UNI DOME OPEN REC HOURS:
UNI Dome OPEN REC hours for spring 2003 are 9 pm - 11 pm, Monday -Thursday.
Hours are subject to change due to athletics and other events held
in the Dome. For these particular dates, check the calendar posted
near the entrance to the Dome Tunnel (in between WRC and DOME).

EAST GYM RENOVATIONS:
The East Gym and East Gym pool will be renovated to house the Innovative
Teaching and Technology Center. This facility will give students,
faculty and staff easy access to high tech classrooms. This project
is funded through state appropriations and is expected to begin fall
of 2003. The gym and gym pool will be closed beginning fall 2003.
Use of the WRC lap pool and leisure pool, and the Price Lab School
pool will be coordinated by appropriate university staff. If you have
any questions regarding this renovation project, contact Morris Mikkelsen,
Renee Romano or Aaron Podolefsky.

NICHOLS VISIT: At
the invitation of the Faculty Senate, Greg Nichols, Executive Director
of the Board of Regents for the State of Iowa, will address university
faculty on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 3:30 p.m. in Lang Hall Auditorium.
All interested staff and students are also welcome to attend.

COLLEGE THEATRE FESTIVAL NEEDS USHERS:
Jan. 22-25, volunteer to usher and see up to eight plays by eight
different colleges FREE. Several show times throughout the day and

This semester you have the option of earning one to
two semester hours of credit for ITS-Educational Technology computer
workshops. Several sections of two workshop series, Mastering Microsoft

MINORITY BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION:
New for-profit, full-time business start-ups, located in Iowa, preferably
in the Cedar Valley, owned and operated by minority entrepreneurs
are encouraged to enter their original business plans into this competition.
The submission deadline is March 24. The maximum award is $5,000 and

SMALL BUSINESS TAX WORKSHOP: The UNI Regional Business
Center will be hosting an IRS Small Business Tax Workshop on Saturday,
Jan. 18 from 8am to 4pm. Instructors will discuss deductible business
expenses, payroll taxes, deposit requirements, record keeping, filing
tax returns and more. The class will be held at the UNI Regional Business

TRAC ENTREPRENEURIAL TRAINING:
The UNI Regional Business Center will be hosting Fast Trac, a national
training program for new and existing entrepreneurs, Saturdays from
January 25 - March 15. Each session will include classroom instruction,
a presentation by an expert from the local business community, and
an opportunity to network with other Cedar Valley entrepreneurs. Classes
will be held on Saturday mornings, from 8:30a.m. to noon January 25

Development Centers Business and Management Certificate Program

two exhibitions, "Deborah Zlotsky" and "Crit Streed."
Zlotsky will lecture on her work at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29,
in the KAB Auditorium, Room 111. An opening reception will follow
