HOLIDAY DEADLINE:
The deadline will change for MyUNIverseNews due to the Thanksgiving
holidays. Deadline for items to be included in the Mon., Dec. 2 edition
of MyUNIverse is Wed., Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. There will be no UNI Online
on Nov. 28.

ACADEMIC
CALENDAR QUESTION:
Would
you favor starting the fall semester on a Thursday, two days earlier
than currently, if in return there would be no classes the entire
week of Thanksgiving? There would be no change in the start of the
spring semester. Please provide the University Calendar Committee
with your input by e-mail to: registrar@uni.edu.

Applications for Student Alumni Ambassadors are due today to the UNI

UNI PRSSA:
The UNI Communication Studies PRSSA was recently acknowledged as the
Most Outstanding PRSSA Chapter in the United States out of 231 chapters.
Jackie Wilson, a UNI Communication Studies PRSSA member, was the recipient
of the new Lawrence Coster Scholarship.

UNIVERSITY
BOOK AND SUPPLY ACCESSABLITIY: University Book and
Supply is under renovation and the lower level wheelchair entrance
is temporarily closed now through the spring semester. During this
time, use the 23rd Street entrance for wheelchair access and associates
will assist with service for the lower level.

Association is looking for 5 to 6 dedicated students, preferably juniors
and seniors, to serve on the 2003 Senior Celebration planning committee.

SHOPPING
TO HELP ORPHANS:
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, St. Stephen's Catholic Student Center is providing
the opportunity to shop at Cathy's Hallmark and World's Window on Main
St. in Cedar falls, for the benefit of El Faro Orphanage in Tijuana,
Mexico. At World's Window from 5:30 - 8 p.m., 10% of all sales will
go to the El Faro Orphanage. If more than $500 in sales are made, 20%
will go to El Faro. At Cathy's Hallmark, from 5 - 8 p.m., everything
in the store will be 10% off and 10% of all sales will go to El Faro.

Now there's a Web site that puts resources for making decisions about
majors and career directions in one place. It's called Major Decisions
and is available through WebCT. To access this resource, go to http://webct.uni.edu
and click on Version 3.6. Use "decisions_guest" as the user

NEW ONLINE E-MAIL AND PHONE DIRECTORY: The
online E-mail and Phone Directory has been re-written and is now in
production. The new version includes a more robust search feature, including
phonetic searches and restricting a search to 'student only' or 'faculty/staff
only'. Directory listings may be customized by adding preferred name,
other e-mail addresses and phone numbers, instant messenger ID's, or
restricting the release of directory information.

evening childcare program has been established through funds from the
U.S. Department of Education. The program runs from 5:30-9:30 p.m.,
