NISG ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO VOTE: The
Northern Iowa Student Government would like to remind students to
VOTE in tomorrow's general election. NISG will be giving out "America
Votes" stickers in the union on Tuesday so be sure and stop in
and get one. Remember, YOUR VOTE COUNTS... SPEAK OUT!

POWER
OUTAGES AFFECTING COMPUTER SERVICES:
The second outage will take place Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 a.m.
(all of CBB). It is necessary for the installation of the new UPS
for the computer room. The third outage will affect the computer room
only, and will be scheduled at a later time. During these times, all
central file servers and services, with exceptions listed below, will
be unavailable. Primary DNS server will be available to resolve hostnames
and addresses, and an "answering machine" for Web services
normally hosted in the computer room. Internet service for the majority
of campus will NOT be affected by these outages.

REGENT
WANTS STUDENT INPUT:
Neala Arnold, a University of Iowa senior, and student member of the
Board of Regents, State of Iowa, wants your concerns, ideas and suggestions.
The Board of Regents oversees the three state universities as well
as the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving
School. Arnold will be available each Monday and Wednesday, during
the academic year, from 2 to 3 p.m. in her office, 211 Macbride Hall
on the University of Iowa campus. Students can also contact her by

MACURH
CONFERENCE: November 15-17, the conference staff
and the Department of Residence welcome 700 university and residence
hall leaders to UNI for the regional MACURH (Midwest Affiliate of
College and University Residence Halls) Conference. They will utilize
the Maucker Union, Wright, Lang, Curris Business Building, and Redeker
Center.

RALLY
FOR FOOD: The Northern Iowa Student Governmet is
sponsoring a "Rally for Food" can drive during the month of November.
Off-campus students can bring in cans to Club Cafe and receive a $1
coupon (per canned food item) off of their purchase. On-campus students
can bring thier food items to the main office (labled which house
they live in) of thier building- the house that collects the most
will win a FREE house party.

STATE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS:
Starting
the first week in November, the IHSAA State Football Playoffs will
be held in the UNI-Dome. There will be games on the following days:

Rape Aggression Defense Systems is a self-defense program based on teaching
simple techniques to improve personal safety. One class is being offered
on Nov. 4 through Nov. 7 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in WRC 246 and Nov.
8 from 1 to 5 p.m. in WRC 242. A second class is offered Nov. 11 - Nov.
14 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in WRC 246 and Nov. 15 from 1-5 p.m. in WRC

FLU
SHOTS:
UNI students can get flu shots at the following dates and locations:
Tuesday Nov. 12, 1-3 p.m., Maucker Union Expansion C. Wednesday, Nov.
13, 7-8:30 a.m., Student Health Clinic. The cost is $12. The Student
Health Clinic (SHC) can now file claims for insurance coverage. If your
insurance provider does not cover the cost, you can pay cash or charge
to your u-bill. To have the SHC file a claim with your insurance company,
download the Insurance Consent Form and bring it to the flu shot clinic
with a copy of both sides of your insurance card. The form is available
