SPRING
2002 SCHEDULE OF CLASSES:
The Spring 2002 Schedule of Classes is now available on the Web at
http://www.uni.edu/regist/reginfo.htm.
Paper copies will be available during the week of November 19th at
the Office of the Registrar, 227 Gilchrist Hall.

WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:
All vehicles should be removed from G, A and B parking lots between
1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Failure to do so hinders snow removal activities
and can result in a fine or towing. Weather can cause delays or cancellation
of classes. Local TV and radio stations will announce UNI weather-related
decisions. Announcements also will be posted on the UNI home page.
If there is no announcement, plan on normal operations. If you are
unsure about reporting to work, contact your supervisor.

UNI THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS:
Rod Library Special Collections staff have prepared an illustrated
Web history of UNI Thanksgiving celebrations. While some traditions
have changed, some parts of the Thanksgiving celebration are quite

SUMMER
ORIENTATION STAFF APPLICATIONS:
Share your enthusiasm and knowledge of UNI with incoming students
and parents. Applications are now available for the 2002 Summer Orientation
Staff (SOS). The SOS assist new students in the selection of their
first semester classes and the registration process. Also, they facilitate
group discussion, organize recreational activities, and lead campus
tours. Compensation includes $2,000 plus room and board from May 19-July
6, 2002. Applications are available until Nov. 28 at the Maucker Union
Information Desk, Residence Hall Offices, The Admissions Office, and
online.

UNI RECIPES NOW FOR SALE: Now
you can make your favorite UNI salads at home. A recipe card set of
21 of the most popular salads is available for $3.75. The salad recipes
are part of a series of recipe sets including cookies, appetizers,
and soups. Recipe sets can be purchased at the Department of Residence
Office and Biscotti's in Redeker Center and at the 23rd Street Market
in the Commons. The sets are held together with decorative ribbon
appropriate for gift giving.

HOW TO GET IT, MANAGE IT & FIX IT:
UNI's John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center's Selected Topics for
Students Presents: Credit: How to Get It, Manage It & Fix It. The
presenter will be Alan Jessen of Consumer Credit Counseling Services
of Northeast Iowa. This presentation will cover valuable information
about getting and managing credit and how to fix a personal debt situation.
Handouts and resources will be available. Much of the information
presented here is part of a fee-based service offered by Consumer
Credit Counseling, but you will get this information for FREE. No
advanced registration is required and the presentation is free to

THEATRE UNI TO HOLD AUDITIONS:
Theatre UNI will hold auditions for next semester's productions of
"The Last Night of Ballyhoo" and "Angels in America, Part 1"
on Sun., Nov. 25 and Mon., Nov. 26 from 6 to 10 p.m. Auditionees are
asked to prepare 2 two-minutes contemporary monologues, one comic
and one dramatic. Those interested may sign up for an audition time

CAMP ADVENTURE
FALL RECRUITMENT: The Camp Adventure Youth Service organization
provides meaningful summer time youth activities to the children of
US military, and embassy staff families who are stationed worldwide.
This past year UNI students joined 750 college aged counselors who
served in 150 program sites in 20 different nations. We provide students'
travel, accommodation and a tax-free stipend for living expenses.
There is also flexibility for international internships and 12 hours
of academic credit. We are looking for 100 committed students to participate
in our spring training program. Our next Leadership Assessment Center
Meeting is Sat., Dec. 8. If you would like additional information,
