PHONE BOOKS NOW AVAILABLE: Students
who live off-campus may pick up their copy of the new university phone
directories at an information table in the Maucker Union Mon. and
Tues. from 10 am - 8 pm. After that, the directories will be available
at the Information Desk in the Union.

PEACEMAKERS
& PEACEKEEPERS: November
11 (Veterans Day) kicks off a week of honoring UNI faculty/staff and
students who are veterans of the Peace Corps or US Military. Celebrate
those among us who have left our shores to be peacekeepers and peacemakers.

Office, dining centers and Maucker Info Desk.

LOTS MONITORED DURING IHSSA PLAYOFFS:
Due to IHSAA Football Playoffs, parking lots around the UNI-Dome will
be monitored. If you have a University parking permit you will not

STUDENT
SOCIAL WORK FUNDRAISER: UNI'S Student
Social Work Association will sponsor a fundraising event to raise
tax-deductible cash contributions and new items for children of the
Rosebud Reservation located in Mission, Todd County, SD. Cash contributions
may be made payable to Mission Foster Children's Fund UNI SSWA, 30
Sabin, Cedar Falls, IA 50614. Cash contributions will be used to purchase
Christmas presents for over 200 children currently in protective custody.
Critically needed items include new or like new tennis shoes, new
underwear, blankets, disposable diapers, mild baby shampoo, winter
apparel and new toys. Boys sizes 8-20 and all teenagers are identified
as the "most forgotten". Current donation sites are The Vibe Coffee
Shop located in the upper level of the Bought Again Books, 909 West
23rd, Cedar Falls and the Maucker Union at UNI.

UNI MEN'S
BASKETBALL VS. IOWA: UNI men's basketball faces the Iowa
Hawkeyes in the UNI-Dome on Tues., Dec. 4th at 7:05 p.m. Like the
Family Weekend football game, you will need an actual ticket for the
game against the Hawkeyes. Seating behind both baskets (and in the
west bleachers, if needed) will be held for UNI students through Fri.,
Nov. 9. Bring your student ID to the UNI-Dome ticket office and you
will be given a ticket to sit in the student section. As a Panther
Pass holder, there is no cost to you. Without a Panther Pass tickets
are $20 each (or they can still buy the $30 Panther Pass) and sit
in the student section. After Nov. 9th, these seats will be available
to the general public so please visit the UNI-Dome ticket office soon
(NE corner of the Dome, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., M-F) to get your special

DINING
SERVICES SURVEY:
Please help us continue to improve on-campus dining services by completing
a customer satisfaction survey this week. Surveys will be available
at each of 15 locations including food carts, dining centers, convenience
stores and restaurants. The survey takes less than a minute to complete
and you can use a pen or a pencil. Your written comments are optional
and apprecaiated. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this

FEE STUDENT SURVEY:
The Rod
Library Student Computer Fee Committee is conducting a survey to help
it decide which projects to recommend for funding with student computer
fee money. The survey will run from Saturday, November 10, through

you can make your favorite UNI salads at home. A recipe card set of
21 of the most popular salads is available for $3.75. The salad recipes
are part of a series of recipe sets including cookies, appetizers,
and soups. Recipe sets can be purchased at the Department of Residence
Office and Biscotti's in Redeker Center and at the 23rd Street Market
in the Commons. The sets are held together with decorative ribbon
appropriate for gift giving.

CAMP ADVENTURE
FALL RECRUITMENT: The Camp Adventure Youth Service organization
provides meaningful summer time youth activities to the children of
US military, and embassy staff families who are stationed worldwide.
This past year UNI students joined 750 college aged counselors who
served in 150 program sites in 20 different nations. We provide students'
travel, accommodation and a tax-free stipend for living expenses.
There is also flexibility for international internships and 12 hours
of academic credit. We are looking for 100 committed students to participate
in our spring training program. Our next Leadership Assessment Center

THE SEASON": A new and inclusive holiday program will
explore and highlight a number of major cultural celebrations which
take place during the winter season. The traditional Treelighting
Ceremony has been enhanced to reflect the changing and diverse campus

for Thurs., Dec. 13, beginning at 7 p.m. with a formal program, then
