NOTICE FROM THE
PURCHASING OFFICE: As of Sept. 18, the FAA has not recinded
its earlier mandate of requiring paper tickets. However, due to long
lines at ticket counters the airlines have now said they will allow
travelers to utilize e-tickets IF they have confirmation of the ticket
purchase such as an itinerary or invoice AND a photo ID IN HAND. This
information is shared with UNI travelers as a 'heads up' and conditions
could change at any time. If you have questions contact Roxanne Conrad

UNI WOMEN'S RUGBY:
The UNI Women's Rugby team won their match on September 16 against Luther
College with a score of 117-0. They won their second match against Wartburg
College with a score of 35-0. The next home game is Homecoming weekend.

LEISURE POOL AND
SPA CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE: The WRC leisure pool and spa
will be closed from Friday, Sept. 21st, 1:00pm through Wednesday, Sept.
26th for maintenance. All leisure pool programs and open hours will
be shifted to the lap pool during this time frame. Regular hours and
programming will resume Thursday, Sept. 27th. Wellness and Recreation
Services apologizes for any inconvenience that this may cause.

WARNER SCHOLARSHIP: Criteria: High school graduate from eastern
Missouri, southern Illinois, or Iowa in the past two years (since May
2000); financial need, full-time UNI student, demonstrate an ongoing
community service, 2.5 GPA or above. Value: $2,000 per year payable
up to four years or upon completion of a first bachelor's degree, whichever
comes first. Number of Recipients: Two Applications available from UNI

LESSONS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE EARTH: John Edward
Terrell, Ph.D., New Guinea Research Program, The Field Museum, September
24, 7:30 p.m. KAB Auditorium. The people of New Guinea Island in the
South Pacific have been called the earth's last living survivors from
the Stone Age. However, the truth about this island--the second largest
in the world--is sometimes not only stranger than fiction, but can

UNI-DOME
REDEDICATION: This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the
UNI-DOME. Celebrate the occasion by attending the festivities on Sept.
29. At noon in the south parking lot of the Dome inflatable games
for kids and music by "Major Healey" will provide live music starting
at 1:30 p.m. The rededication ceremony begins at 2 p.m. on the Dome's
south plaza. The football game against 1-AA foe Youngstown State kicks
off at 4:05 pm; get there early to receive your commemorative ticket
and "Growl Towel"!

SURVIVOR: The University Honors Program invites you to
hear the moving story of Mr. David Faber, author of "Because of Romek:
A Holocaust Survivor's Memoir." Mr. Faber's talk is on Wed., Oct.
