Elizabeth Freimuth, horn

Guest Artist Elizabeth Freimuth, horn, will visit the School of Music for a recital and master class. Freimuth, a graduate of Eastman School of Music and Rice University, is principal horn player for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. These events are free and open to the public.

Edgar Meyer, bass (appearing with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony)

Meet a gifted American composer and hear music by two legends of our national musical life. Edgar Meyer brings his astonishing bass playing and his approachable compositions to the Cedar Valley for a concert of American orchestral pieces that draw on popular musical styles. Jeongwon Ham, piano

March 25, 2009 - 8:00 p.m.

Guest Artist Jeongwon Ham, trumpet, will visit the UNI School of Music and offer a recital performance open to all students and the public. Ham earned her D.M.A. from University of Kansas, and has won numerous piano competitions including the Paul Hindemith Competition and many others. This event is free and open to the public.

Michael Haithcock, conductor

Michael Haithcock, conductor, will visit the UNI School of Music for a conductor's symposium in April 2009. Carnaval! The 27th Annual Scholarship Benefit Concert

Join the UNI School of Music for a Carnaval! The 27th Annual Scholarship Benefit concert will feature the Wind Symphony, Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, UNI choral ensembles and outstanding guest artists Sheri Greenawald and Nick Lane. The concert will begin in the Great Hall of the GBPAC and then travel to the newly renovated Russell Hall for reception, celebration and more music! Carnaval II: School of Music Alumni & Friends Concert

Visiting artists Thomas Reed, organ, will offer a recital. Reed, an award winning organist who has studied at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, currently performs throughout the country as a professional church musician. Musical Testimony: Kristallnacht at 70 featuring Samuel Adler
