Instructional Leadership

These positions are primarily instructional in nature, with additional mentoring responsibilities for our new members.

Flag Captains will encourage writing routines, developing new props, and adding to the legacy of our fine flag line.

Section Leaders will be given opportunities to have an impact on their section; establishing musical standards and section pride as they improve their own rehearsal techniques.

Marching Assistant responsibilities will be heaviest during the preseason camp. Each Marching Assistant will be assigned three or four rookie members. In addition to teaching their assigned rookie members how to march, they will provide a source of support to our freshmen during that difficult first semester in college. Marching assistants should be among our best marchers, plus have a desire to help develop the "family" atmosphere in our band.
