THREE WAYS TO AUDITION:

LIVE AUDITION

Saturday ,March 31, 2012: 9am – 2pm, UNI Campus West Gym

You will be taught a series of warm-ups, basics, tosses, and across the floors.  In addition, you will be taught a 32-64 count routine.  Prepare a 1-2 minute solo and bring your own CD music.  Boombox and flags will be provided.

All returning veterans must audition on this date.
New members can also audition on this date.

AUDITION DVD

New members can submit a DVD of the following requirements

  1. Basics: A) single and double (sometimes called double fast) spins, B)  demonstrate two tosses of your choice, C) figure 8’s (sometimes called stirs) 
  2. Across the floors: marching and spinning at the same time, etc
  3. A 1-2 minute solo routine

Videos submitted by July 29th, 2012 will be given priority. Mail DVD to

ORIENTATION AUDITION

New members can audition during their Freshman or Transfer Orientation this summer.  Contact Amy Hunzelman, amy.hunzelman@uni.edu or (319)-273-3679 at least seven days before your arrival to schedule a 30 minute audition time. A 32-count routine will be taught.  Come prepared to demonstrate the following

  • Basics: A) single and double (sometimes called double fast) spins, B)  demonstrate two tosses of your choice, C) figure 8’s (sometimes called stirs) 
  • Across the floors: marching and spinning at the same time, etc
  • A 1-2 minute solo routine (don’t forget to bring music and your flag!)

All new members will be notified by August 1st of their status and if they have been accepted into the Panther Marching Band.

Important dates to remember

  • August 11th & 12th: Colorguard Camp (tentatively)
          -Dorm move-in will occur the morning of August 14th
    August 13th – 18th: Band Camp
    August 20th: First day of classes
