Bryan Bennett is an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Northern Iowa. His teaching duties have included Soundscapes, Our Musical Heritage, Music of Our Time, High Brass Techniques, and Applied trumpet. He has also been a member of the Northern Brass Quintet.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Bennett is a member of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra/Brass Quintet, and frequently performs with Theater Cedar Rapids. Past ensemble affiliations have included the Walt Disney World College Program, the Quad City Symphony, the Cedar Rapids Opera, the Cedar Rapids Symphony, as well as regional performances with the bands of Bobby Layne, Guy Lombardo, Jimmy Dorsey, Nelson Riddle, and Benny Goodman. Additionally he has performed with the Joffrey Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet, the Temptations, and the Four Tops. Dr. Bennett has served as a teaching assistant at the Birch Creek Music Center in Egg Harbor Wisconsin, as brass instructor at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Dallas, TX, and trumpet professor at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. His students have been members of the Iowa All-State Band, Iowa All-State Jazz Band, University of Northern Iowa Jazz Band I, and other various performing groups. His teachers have included Bruce Chidester, Randy Grabowski, Keith Johnson, and David Greenhoe. He received his B.A. and M.M. degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, and his D.M.A. from The University of Iowa.
