Scholarship Benefit Concert 2015
Get ready for a musical romance...That's Amore! The University of Northern Iowa School of Music Cordially invites you to attend the 34th Annual Scholarship Benefit Concert Friday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
Get ready for a celebration! The evening will be filled with exceptional performances by student and faculty musicians, as well as a high-energy post-concert amore-themed reception where the music and excitement of the evening continue!
Concert Performers and Reception Details
The concert will feature James Linahon (‘73), exceptional musician and producer from Los Angeles, conducting the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra in a tribute to his touring days with Frank Sinatra. Faculty artists Bill Shepherd, Amanda McCandless, Heather Peyton, Cayla Bellamy, Mitra Sadeghpour, Bob Dunn, Christopher Merz, Alexander Pershounin, Korey Barrett, Sean Botkin, Serena Hou, Polina Khatsko, Dmitri Vorobiev and Jeff Brich. Also featured: the Northern Iowa Wind Symphony, UNI varsity Men's Glee Club, Concert Chorale, UNI Singers, UNI percussion studio, the Northern Iowa Flute Choir, Opera UNI and more!
Intermission will feature a harp performance by Gretchen Brumwell during our ‘chocolate course’. As always, the end of the concert is only the beginning of the festivities. Plan to stay for excellent hors d’oeuvres and champagne in the lobby with music provided by the Hands of Time Quartet, as well as post-show performances in Jebe and Davis Hall by Randall Harlow, Mariko Morita, Cayla Bellamy and new faculty artists Ross Winter and Katherine Osbourne.
