Student Employment & Internships
The UNI Museums promote work experience and job training for students. This can be done through internships, independent study, undergraduate research, directed work study, or volunteering. The positions listed below are filled on a regular basis throughout the academic year. A listing of all the Museums financially-assisted student employment opportunities can be found through the University of Northern Iowa Financial Aid Office.
Collections Technician
Technicians assist with various projects in the Museums' collections such as cataloging, researching, exhibiting, or storing objects. Students with coursework in geology, biology, anthropology, or history should apply.
Education Assistant
Assisting the Education Coordinator, students develop and present programs to elementary school groups, both at the Museum and area schools, as well as assist with special programming and events at the University Museum and Marshall Center School. This position is appropriate for students having experience with children and coursework in geology, biology, anthropology, or history.
