SUPPORT A SPECIAL PROJECT

Each year the UNI Museums embark on new projects that will improve our educational programs for the campus and all Iowans. As a potential donor, you can select from the following list of projects based on your own special interests.

For more detailed information on these projects and how you can help, contact Katherine Martin, Head, Collections and Museums, at 319-273-7255 or katherine.martin@uni.edu.

For information on how to give a donation, contact Frank Esser, UNI Office of Advancement, at 319-273-2393 or Frank.Esser@uni.edu.

CHANGING EXHIBITS
Suggested donation range: $2,500-$5,000

Three times each year, the Museums present new and exciting exhibits on a variety of cultural and natural history topics. These are chosen to complement campus classes and to enrich the cultural life of the Cedar Valley. You can ensure new learning opportunities are always available at the Museums by supporting these exhibits. Your sponsorship will be recognized in the exhibit at your level of gift.

MAJOR TRAVELING EXHIBITS
Suggested donation range: $5,000-$10,000

Every 3 years, we present a large traveling exhibit from a nationally known institution. These major exhibits are normally seen only in large museums in major urban areas. Your donation will help bring exceptional exhibits to the UNI campus, the Cedar Valley, and the state of Iowa. Your sponsorship will be recognized in the exhibit at the level of your gift.

COLLECTION IMAGES DATABASE
Suggested donation range: $10,000-$15,000

With over 110,000 objects in our collection, we want to make more of the collection accessible online through a visual database of object images. To make that database, your support is needed to hire a photographer and purchase special equipment to speed the digitization process. Your sponsorship will be recognized in the Museums' publications and web site.

PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF IOWA'S RURAL EDUCATION
Suggested donation range: $3,000-$5,000

To save Iowa's rich history of quality education, the UNI Museums are aggressively building an important research collection of materials related to early Iowa education. Focusing primarily on rural schools, our collection includes teacher records, old photographs, personal school memorabilia, texts, school board documents, and oral histories. Your financial assistance is needed to help build, preserve, and make accessible this remarkable collection. Your sponsorship will be recognized in the Museums' publications and web site.

TAKING THE MUSEUMS TO SCHOOLS
Suggested donation range: $1000-$3,000

Though many northeast Iowa elementary schools take field trips to the UNI Museums, it is frequently financially difficult or impossible to do. You can help young school children to see the wonders of the Museums or help the Museum staff to take educational programs to the schools. A donation might pay for a field trip bus, construction of traveling trunks for teachers to use in the classroom, or a visit by a Museum educator to schools throughout northeast Iowa.

WORK EXPERIENCES FOR UNI STUDENTS
Suggested donation: $3,000/student/year

One of the best gifts you can give students is professional work experience. The UNI Museums provide experiential learning to students while earning their degree. Students in marketing, public relations, history, geology, philosophy, leisure services, library science, anthropology, biology, art, and business have all received valuable work experience in their field of study. Your support of these internships can build their knowledge, awareness of professional standards, and confidence, while making them more likely to find meaningful employment after graduation.
