Our World in Focus: The Irreplaceable Wild
Photography Contest and & Exhibit

Amateur and professional photographers of all ages are invited to submit 8x10 photographs focusing on the flora and fauna of Iowa, the United States and the world. Deadline for contest entries is Tuesday, Dec. 1.  Each submission should include an 8x10" copy of the photo and an artist statement describing the subject matter. Prizes will be awarded and entries displayed at the opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 2:00 p.m.

coffee inspectionExplore the environmental and social impact of the coffee industry, one of the world’s most widely traded commodities, and learn how it has affected cultures, economies, and environments across the globe. Discover the impact of caffeine on your body, and consider the culture that surrounds coffee in the twenty-first century. Learn about coffee’s origins in Africa, its past and present methods of production and the art and science of producing the perfect cup. Coffee: The World in Your Cup has been organized by the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle, Washington.
