SPEND "SATURDAYS AT THE SCHOOLHOUSE"
Marshall Center School to feature 1930s programming
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Experience life in the 1930s with "Saturdays at the Schoolhouse" at Marshall Center School, corner of corner of Indiana St. and W. 23rd St. in Cedar Falls.
This fun and educational series brings the 1930s to life with programs that focus on rural, Iowa life and education in one-room schools. All programs are free and open to the public of all ages. Programs include:
- Saturday, Feb. 6, 2-4 p.m.
Candy, Movies & Fun!
Discover the differences between today's treats and those from the 1930s. Enjoy a screening of Disney's Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated feature film released in 1937. Space is limited! Call (319) 273-2188 to register by Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Iowa's One-Room Schoolhouses: Steve Sage
Join Steve Sage, former student at Bennington No. 4, a rural Black Hawk County one-room school featured in the documentary, Iowa's One-Room Schoolhouses, for a short presentation about his experience in Iowa's one-room schools. Following, enjoy a screening of the Emmy Award-winning IPTV documentary featuring Marshall Center School and Bennington No. 4.

Dear Mrs. Roosevelt
Explore the world of the Roosevelt family during the Great Depression. Discover how the first family helped Americans get back to work and find out how Iowa children survived the 1930s. Iowa's One-Room Schoolhouses: Ruth Anne Gooden

Marshall Center School is open Friday and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and by appointment. The University Museum is located on Hudson Road and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
