COURSES: All students will choose ONE course from EACH of the following groups:
GROUP ONE OPTIONS:
- Africa (680:128) - 3 hours. Interdisciplinary examination of contemporary African society and culture: historical heritage, problems, prospects, and importance. Prerequisites: 680:021; 680:022.
- Introduction to Francophone Literature in Translation (720:031) - 3 hours. Understanding and appreciating basic forms of French-language literatures in English translation through close reading of literary texts.
- Special Topics in Literature: Francophone Literature (720:122g) - 3 hours. Conducted in French. Thorough introduction to francophone literature and culture.
GROUP TWO OPTIONS:
- Studies in Elementary French (720:086) 2 hours. Understanding the basic forms of language; development of vocabulary and emphasis on speaking.
- Advanced Oral Practice (720:160g) - 2 hours. Development of oral fluency and greater accuracy through structured oral exercises; free conversation dealing with civilization and topics of current interest.
- STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIPS
- A limited number of scholarships will be available to qualified
candidates. Students may access the scholarship information and application
at www.uni.edu/studyabroad.
- ESTIMATED COSTS
- $5000. Includes program fees, excursions, lodging, most meals, airfare, visa, travel insurance, tuition.
Not included: passport, vaccinations, health insurance, some meals, beverages and spending money.
