| Governor Tom Vilsack visited the Metal
Casting Center on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, to
discuss economic development plans with local leaders.
Vilsack outlined his $500 million Iowa Values Fund,
which he has proposed as a way to begin the transformation
of Iowa's economy. The Iowa Values Fund would include
$50 million to build and expand infrastructure for
biotechnology and life sciences, $50 million for
development of renewable energy production, $250
million for investments in the key industry cluster
areas of life sciences, advanced manufacturing,
and information solutions, and additional funding
for regional economic development efforts. |
