100. PURPOSE AND ORGANIZATION OF THE MAUCKER UNION
Maucker Union is a center for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests of the University.
Through Maucker Union's programs, services, and facilities, members of
the University community may participate in a wide range of activities.
Maucker Union exists to serve the campus community and should enrich the
educational experiences of the individuals who are a part of it. Further,
Maucker Union exists to provide an informal setting for gatherings, conferences,
and activities for the entire campus community.
101. Relationship to the University
Maucker Union operates under general
University policies and procedures and is a department in the Division
of Student Affairs. Its mission: "to promote a student centered university
characterized by high academic standards enriched learning experiences
and stimulating student, faculty, and staff interaction. We value quality, integrity,
caring, and teamwork. These values are practiced through leadership and
service to students, to each other, and to the university community."
102. Maucker Union Advisory Board
The Maucker Union Advisory Board, a standing University committee, provides
advisory oversight of the general operation of Maucker Union and supports
Maucker Union programming efforts. It is an advisory body that plays an
important role in assisting the staff, providing guidance about policies,
and generally helping Maucker Union to continually provide a wide range
of quality service for the campus community. The Board membership is listed
in the Maucker Union Advisory Board bylaws. Maucker Union staff members
also formulate policies and procedures which are generally reviewed by
the Board.
