Integration Bee

The Integration Bee is an annual competition sponsored by the UNI Math department. Undergraduate students and local high school students compete to evaluate integrals in a spelling bee format. It is a fun event which occurs in April each year.

Maple Resources

Maple is a Computer Algebra System from maplesoft. It is a powerful mathematical tool, utilized by students, teachers, and researchers. Maple Release 10 is the current default for all platforms.

The Mathematics Department at UNI uses Maple in many of its courses, including the Calculus sequence (I, II, and III), Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Dynamical Systems. You can find introductory Maple worksheets as well as course-specific Maple resources at www.math.uni.edu/~prophet/MapleResources.

Mathematics Technology

The computing technology used in mathematics has grown ever more powerful and easy to use every year. Look at a couple of web sites that can show you just how amazing these tools can be.

mathworld.com is a repository of information about all things mathematical. You can use it for research, just looking up some information on a type of problem, or learn about the history of math.

integrals.wolfram.com can show you, in different ways, the amazing-ness of integrals and their place in the greater world of mathematics.
