Integration Bee

The Integration Bee is an annual competition sponsored by the UNI Math department. Undergraduate students and local high school students compete to evaluate integrals in a spelling bee format. It is a fun event which occurs in April each year.

The DoDEA Project

During the past two years, UNI has hosted elementary teachers who are learning more about implementing reform in their classrooms through Developing Mathematical Ideas. Over one hundred teachers come to Iowa for one-week workshops each summer.

UNI has also been involved with the Educational Development Center in the creation of online courses to help provide professional development for mathematics teachers for the past two years. With these online courses, a new focus is beginning this summer. Fifteen master teachers, all with connections to UNI, will participate in a workshop to learn how to conduct these online courses. During the next few years, it is anticipated that each of these master teachers will offer the online courses to Department of Defense teachers from around the world.
