Academic Options in the UNI Math Department

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Northern Iowa includes four Bachelor of Arts degree programs, allowing you to choose a program in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics and actuarial science, or teaching. A degree in any of these areas can provide you the opportunity for a number of rewarding careers or graduate study. A number of students at UNI choose to double major in mathematics and another discipline.

Undergraduate Majors in Mathematics (B.A.)

Alternatively, the minors offered by the Department of Mathematics have proven attractive to students in computer science, physics and other sciences, business, and secondary and elementary education. The addition of a minor in mathematics to the study of another major can help distinguish you from others with the same major.

Graduate

There are four graduate degree programs in mathematics and mathematics education at UNI. For general information about graduate education at UNI, visit the Graduate College web site.
