Summary

 

The textile and apparel program (TAPP) at UNI will prepare you for a variety of jobs within the textile and apparel industry. You will be educated in the widely diverse areas of trend analysis, apparel product development and design, mass production methods, costume history, promotion planning, advertising design, computer-aided design, textile apparel quality control, marketing, textile science and structures, consumer research and merchandise buying and planning.


The textile and apparel program requires 120 hours of course work: 60 in the major, 16 in electives and 44 in Liberal Arts Core (includes 3 hours double-counted in the major).

Scholarships

 

Scholarships for current majors include the Nellie Dickey Award, the Marjorie Gibson Leighty Scholarship, the Martha Shedd Scholarship and Letitia Walsh Scholarship. An award in honor of Dr. Elisabeth Sutherland Howes, department head from 1940 to 1960, is presented to an outstanding graduating senior.
