American Attitudes: Program on
International Policy Attitudes
A project of the Center on Policy Attitudes and the Center for International
Security Studies, this site conducts polls and focus groups to survey attitudes
about global affairs. The questionnaire, margin of error, and survey size for
each survey is available as is a report of the findings.

This organization analyzes new threats to national and international
security, examines events in major geographical regions, and strives to develop
new methods of governance.
Center for Defense
Information
The Center seeks to strengthen security through international
cooperation and contributes "alternative views on security to promote
wide-ranging discourse and debate." Provides access to program specific sites on
topics such as children and armed conflict, peacekeeping, and the U.S. military
budget.
Council on
Foreign Relations
The Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, national membership
organization dedicated to producing and disseminating ideas that promote a
better understanding of the world and the foreign policy choices facing the
United States and other governments.
FIRST: Facts on International
Relations and Security Trends
Sponsored by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, this site
provides access to 39 databases that can be searched individually or in
combination. The information provided relates to all aspects of conflict.
Foreign
Affairs Online
Subdivides links to information in categories such as US and foreign
governments, the UN, and international and nongovernmental organizations as well
as topical areas such as human rights and international law.
Global
Policy Forum
The GPF "monitors policy making at the United
Nations, promotes accountability of global decisions, educates and mobilizes for
global citizen participation, and advocates on vital issues of international
peace and justice." Information on the site is divided into sections including
globalization, Iraq, and UN reform.
Institute
for Science and Security Trends
One of the databases searchable through FIRST (listed above), ISIS provides
assessments on topics relating to nuclear proliferation and weapons technology
including assessments of the weapons capabilities and activities of specific
countries.
International
Crisis Group News
The International Crisis Group is an "independent, non-profit,
multinational organisation...working through field-based analysis and high-level
advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict." The site provides reports
and briefings on conflicts and conflict resolution initiatives around the globe.
Official Documents System of the United Nations
Allows you to search and retrieve the full text of official UN documentation published since 1993.
MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base
Provides information on terrorist groups including their ideology, geographic areas of operation, members, and activities. Data can be retrieved on terrorist incidents dating back to 1970.
St. Thomas School of Law Diplomacy Monitor
Provides full text access to documents including communiques,
press briefings, and position papers. The site contains unique and helpful
analytical tools including the "nation to nation" feature that enables users to
isolate materials on the bilateral relations between two countries and the
"nation to issue" feature that enables users to locate information linking a
country to a specific issue.
