Where Does my Food Come From?
Gardening, cooking, nutrition, sustainability and fun all rolled into one class. Join us for this four week course which will walk participants through growing their own food with hands on activities in the garden each night. Learn about our current food supply system, alternative food supplies, shopping local options, and how to stretch those local foods through Iowa winters. We will discuss nutrition ideas for healthy living through exploring lesser known produce items, along with garden favorites by cooking various dishes each night for participants to sample for the first three classes. The final night we invite participants to bring a dish to share with the class showcasing one of their new favorite finds. We will be outside a fair amount of time so be sure to dress for the weather. Class size is limited to 12 participants.
