Admission requirements: for M.A. admission and Graduate Assistant applications, the following items are required (in addition to the requirements of the Graduate College):

Undergraduate major in the intended area(s) of study (or its equivalent), documented on an official university transcript.

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose in the target language (English, Spanish)

The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is NOT required for any students. Students who do not have a major or minor in the intended area(s) of study may be admitted provisionally, provided they can document their language skills and the academic preparation required to succeed in the graduate program for which they are applying. Also, students with academic deficiencies may be required to take additional undergraduate coursework to prepare for graduate studies. At the left you will find links to help you with UNI's application process.
